Filming on location in Antwerp, Belgium
Antwerp lies in northern Belgium in the province of Flanders and has one of Europe’s largest seaports. The city is a popular filming destination, especially for European productions, and offers buildings and architecture reflecting hundreds of years of history.
As the city sees a lot of European filming activity it has extensive local infrastructure, with around 20 local equipment suppliers and a dozen different studio facilities catering for a variety of productions.
The Belgian Tax Shelter system and location bonus scheme provide local filming incentives for productions interested in shooting Antwerp, while multi-lingual crews have domestic and international experience. Visiting productions can also easily do their post-production locally if they choose to.
Some of Antwerp’s more eye-catching locations include Central Station, a building with neo-baroque facades and a gilt and marble interior. There’s also the historic city centre and the townhouses of the Cogels-Osylei.
