Nepal
Nepal has some extraordinary and unique locations. Kathmandu, the capital, is a living cultural museum.
Seven World Heritage sites are located within a 20km radius of the capital.
The Nepalese Government has been trying to make it as easy as possible for the international filmmaker to make use of its stunning and unique locations.
It provides custom-free import for any film-related goods or equipment and has simplified the process for bringing in crew.
More than USD5.4 million is invested annually in the Nepali film industry and the Government has encouraged a new generation of local talent by creating a filmmaker welfare fund.
Climate
The climate changes from summer temperatures that reach 40C to winter lows of -20C, so spring and autumn are the obvious times to shoot. The monsoon season on the coast occurs between June and September when 80% of the country’s rainfall occurs.
