Plans have been unveiled to install an official film incentive programme in Romania before the end of the year, with talks currently being held between the Romanian National Film Centre and Romania’s Ministry of Culture. While the details of the incentive have yet to be finalised, in its current state it will offers tax relief of up to 30% to productions that spend a minimum amount of EUR30 million in the country.
Romania has over the years become a popular international filming location. High-profile US productions have included the comedy-caper War Dogs and the biopic miniseries, Harley and the Davidsons.
The country also launched a website called Location Guide Romania that offers information on regional production resources.

Romania has a temperate climate. Spring is pleasant with cool mornings and nights, and warm days. Summer is quite warm, with extended sunny days.
The hottest areas in summer are in southern and eastern Romania, where 38C is often reached in July and August. Temperatures are always cooler in the mountains.
Autumn is dry and cool, with fields and trees producing colourful foliage. Winters can be cold, especially in the mountains. Abundant snowfall may occur throughout the country from December to mid-March. There are significant differences in the climate between different regions of Romania.
