Metrafilms shoots on location in Finnish Lapland for Beeline’s winter campaign

Moscow-based Metrafilms headed to Finnish Lapland for a winter campaign for Russian telecommunications firm Beeline. The spot shows revellers bringing in 2013 with a mix of snowboarding and a nightclub party.

Snow scenes were filmed around a ski resort in Pyhä in the Pelkosenniemi region of Finnish Lapland, doubling for the Magadan and Krasnoyarsk parts of eastern and north-eastern Russia, respectively.

Jukka Valtanen line produced for Pure Scandinavia and explained that logistics were the biggest challenge: “We had one shooting day and because we shot a couple of scenes on top of the mountain and the rest down in a valley, the biggest part was moving the equipment and crew up and down within the schedule.”

We have put an increasing effort into promoting the region for TV commercials.

Johanna Karppinen, Finnish Lapland Film Commission

Johanna Karppinen is with the Finnish Lapland Film Commission: "We are delighted that the locations for this commercial were found in Lapland. Over the past year we have put an increasing effort into promoting the region for TV commercials and have already seen a raising number in requests from that sector.”

Finnish Lapland’s production industry is growing. In 2012 the region hosted two international feature productions from Lithuania and Russia, in addition to four domestic films and numerous TV shows and commercials.
