New York expands post-production incentive and eyes state-wide growth
New York State has expanded its post-production incentive and will reward projects doing the work outside New York City. Filmmakers can now access a 30% tax credit on post work done in the city – a 10% increase – and the credit grows to 35% if they get it done elsewhere in the state.
Andrew Cuomo is Governor of New York State: "New York State's programme of incentives to attract film and television productions to New York has been a tremendous success, generating billions of dollars in economic impact and supporting hundreds of thousands of hires.
There is potential for this industry to make new investments in communities across the state and, in doing so, help make New York the television and film capital of the world.

The expanded credit will also be available for productions that have not done any actual filming in New York State. New York has poached a lot of business from California over the past year because of its incentive programme and remains one of the top production hubs in the US.
