Major Bollywood film on early life of Jesus to shoot in Holy Land
Bollywood Director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao has announced the production of a new film covering the childhood of Jesus that will shoot soon in the Holy Land. At USD30 million the project is very big-budget by Bollywood standards and will feature Indian child actors.
Rao said: “The shooting is likely to take off in about two months from now and will cover Jesus’ life in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jericho and Galilee, employing hundreds of locals in the production.”
The film will be the first in the history of Bollywood to address the life of Jesus. It is intended to appeal to India’s 24 million Christians (less than 3% of the population), as well as believers around the world.
