Men in Black 3 cites NY tax credit changes for filming delay
The filming of Men in Black 3, scheduled to take place partly in New York, has been delayed for a week or so. In the film the Men in Black headquarters is in New York and both previous films have involved location shoots there.
A spokesperson for Sony said: “The only reason production will begin in mid-November as opposed to late October is to take advantage of recent changes affecting New York State film incentives.”
New York State recently made an additional USD420 million a year available to fund its existing tax credit scheme through to 2014. At the moment a 30% tax credit is available for eligible costs incurred while filming in New York State.
