Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd to shoot Dolphin Tale in Florida
Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd will star in Dolphin Tale, which is to shoot in Florida in late September. Shooting will focus on the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and various locations throughout Pinellas County on Florida’s western coastline.
The film will be based on the true story of Winter the dolphin, who was found on the Florida coastline in 2006 having lost her tail in a crab trap. A prosthetic tail was later built for her.
Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, co-founders and co-Chief Executive Officers of Alcon, said: “We are very excited to bring this inspiring true story to the big screen. Like The Blind Side it fits squarely into the type of movie Alcon enjoys to make.”
Around USD125,000 could be fed into the local economy as a result of the production filming on location. Florida recently launched a new transferable filming tax credit worth USD242 million over five years.
