Moscow fires shut down Emile Hirsch shoot
Shooting on the Moscow-based production of alien invasion thriller The Darkest Hour has been shut down for two weeks. This is a result of nearby wildfires that are spewing smoke across the city and have so far resulted in more than 50 deaths in and around Moscow.
A spokesman for Summit said: “On any production the health and safety of the actors and crew is of primary concern. We do not foresee this temporary stoppage of filming affecting the film’s wrap date as we always build contingencies into a production schedule to account for unforeseen situations.”
The production had been scheduled to film exterior scenes at the moment with stars Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby, but conditions are currently considered too dangerous.
