Image Partnership films Zara photo shoot on location in Budapest
London-based production company Image Partnership took to the streets of Budapest for a new photo shoot campaign for fashion brand Zara. The resulting commercial shows off the gothic streets and concrete tenements of the Hungarian capital.
“[The brief asked for] cobbled streets, arcades and deserted underpass lights,” says Zita Kisgergely of servicing company PPM Film Productions: “This description fits many European cities but Image Partnership chose Budapest as a shooting location as a perfect city because as well as being ‘bright’, the city can also do ‘edgy’ with sooty Gothic tenements, bullet-pocked facades and brooding, almost comic-book ready streets."
“Director of Photography Jack Webb was keen to find neutral desolate areas for the campaign video that was shot in black and white,” Kisgergely adds.
Budapest is a massively popular production hub in central Europe. Recent commercial productions have included India’s longest-ever commercial for Tata Sky, which was filmed on location in the city’s Kozma prison, while Hero Motocorp brought Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor to Budapest for a thrilling chase short.
The city is also used for major feature films and in fact doubled for Moscow in Bruce Willis' A Good Day to Die Hard.
