Filme Rio - Rio Film Commission partners with Film London Production Finance Market

Filme Rio – Rio Film Commission has become a partner of the Film London Production Finance Market (PFM). Film London and Filme Rio – Rio Film Commission have been sharing ideas and business opportunities since first making an agreement in Cannes in 2011.

“As the UK strengthens its relationship with Brazil we are delighted to be sustaining and amplifying our partnership with Rio,” said Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London and the British Film Commission: “We are also delighted to confirm a new international partner on the PFM, further extending the Market’s reach to now include one of the key emerging markets.”

Steve Solot is President of the Filme Rio - Rio Film Commission said: “The new role of the Film Rio – Rio Film Commission as International Partner of the PFM offers a perfect means to expand and strengthen our existing relationship with Film London and is very timely in view of the expansion of the audiovisual sector in Brazil in general and in the city and state of Rio de Janeiro in particular.”

The Brazilian organisation will present up to five regional projects to be considered for inclusion at London’s PFM in October 2013, which be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Filme Rio – Rio Film Commission is also being advised by Film London on strategies to assist with its preparations for the Olympics in 2016.
