Sci-fi movie Division 19 gets filming incentive payment for shooting in Detroit
Dystopian feature Division 19 has been awarded a filming incentive payment to shoot on location in Detroit, Michigan, this month. The production will spend around USD840,000 locally and will get an incentive payment of around USD261,000.
“The compelling locations found throughout metro Detroit [were a] big factor in bringing this project to Michigan,” said Michigan Film Office director Margaret O’Riley: “Division 19 is committed to using Michigan crew and to providing jobs and experience for our workers.”
Division 19 tells the story of a world where the public decides the fate of inmates in the prison system and a popular felon must track down those in charge when he escapes.
Detroit is a popular filming location and has recently hosted new TV drama Low Winter Sun, as well as scenes for Michael Bay’s big-budget movie sequel Transformers 4.
