George David is President of Association of Film Commissioners International
George David is the new President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). The AFCI is a non-profit organisation that serves the needs of productions filming on location around the world.
Mr David (left) has extensive production industry experience, beginning in Jordan in the late 90s. He joined the Royal Film Commission – Jordan in 2005 and currently serves as the organisation’s General Manager. Mr David was instrumental in setting up the commission’s Jordan Film Fund in 2011 and has supported films including Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker.
“I would like to contribute in expanding the outreach of AFCI more globally through partnerships with film organisations and companies,” Mr David told TLG: “I also hope that I can make a difference in highlighting the role of the film commissioner and giving us better recognition within the industry.”
“George and I share a dedication to valuable member benefits and exceptional service to our members,” commented AFCI Executive Director Kevin Clark: “Truthfully, this is the most exciting time for me at the AFCI in my eight-plus years with the organisation."

“Our first quarter alone," Mr Clark added, "will deliver the launch of our new website, a brand new tool for online courses for AFCI University and the best issue yet of our Beyond Cinema magazine.”
The AFCI will have a presence at all the major production industry events in 2013 to continue highlighting the work of film commissions around the world.
