Jane Austen pastiche Death Comes to Pemberley films in North Yorkshire castle

Jane Austen pastiche Death Comes to Pemberley is filming on location at Howard Castle in North Yorkshire, England. The story is set six years after the events of Austen’s classic novel Pride & Prejudice and will film at three separate UK estates.

“We are delighted to be filming the drama in such stunning locations,” Origin Pictures’ producer David Thompson told the Northern Echo: “All three stately homes are wonderful period properties which perfectly evoke the Darcys’ world. We have been thoroughly welcomed by everyone we’ve worked with and are thrilled we have been granted access to film in such wonderful Yorkshire settings.”

Produced by Origin Pictures, the project is scheduled to film at Castle Howard for the next week, with the support of Screen Yorkshire. Chatsworth House in Derbyshire and Harewood House near Harrogate will also be used as Pemberley, the fictional marital home of Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
