Nashville TV series to continue filming on location in Tennessee for second season
Television drama series Nashville will get filming incentive support to continue filming on location in its namesake city in Tennessee for its second season. The show follows a fading Nashville singer forced to team up with a young starlet to save her career.
“Mayor [Karl] Dean is thrilled that the show will continue to film in Nashville,” said the Nashville Mayor’s office: “It’s seen by millions of viewers and serves as advertising for the city that you simply can’t buy - it generates real economic value. To help make it feasible for the show to continue to film here, the city is planning to participate in incentives for the second season.”
For its first season, the show received a USD7.5 million filming incentive payment to film on location in Nashville. Tennessee offers a 25% filming incentive payable in the form of a grant for productions spending at least USD250,000 in-state.
