Revolution show creator monitoring North Carolina location filming from LA

The creator of new TV show Revolution has been monitoring East Coast filming from his office in Los Angeles, having yet been unable to visit the set. Eric Kripke came up with the series, which charts humanity’s struggles in a dystopian world years after all electrical power is lost.

“It’s always a little challenging being 2,000 miles away from my production,” Kripke told The TV Addict: “Ironically enough on this show we are absolutely reliant – crucially – upon technology and we’re emailing, Skyping, sending photos and dailies.

“Dailies don’t come as film, tape or DVDs anymore; they come on our desktops and so then we’re responding quickly in real-time. And you can actually get quite a lot of producing done just by sitting at your computer, which is funny and ironic.”

Location filming on Revolution’s first season followed competitive tax incentives to North Carolina. The state is already home to hit show Homeland and was used extensively for the first Hunger Games film, as well as Iron Man 3.
