Ron Howard films racing drama Rush on location in Norfolk in the UK
Filmmaker Ron Howard has spent part of this week filming his new Formula One drama Rush on location in Norfolk in the east of England. Different parts of Snetterton racing circuit near Norwich have doubled for racing tracks around the world as the film is set during the 1976 Formula One season.
Howard commented: “We’re dedicating the last portion of the production to recreating these very intense races. What we’re doing is using different corners and sections to replicate tracks that we either can’t get to, or have changed so much that we need to do things to make them historically accurate.

“We were able to find a lot of that at Snetterton and that’s why we’re here for a couple of days of shooting, including a day of full work with the actual historic Formula One cars.”
Howard has been posting regular updates of the Rush production process through his Twitter account. He even put out an open invite to locals to come along to Snetterton in 70s clothing to appear as extras in trackside crowd scenes.
Snetterton is in fact the second-longest racing track in the world following a GBP3.5 million renovation in 2011.
