Royle Productions shoot South London for Age UK commercial

South London is at the heart of Royle Productions’ latest commercial for Age UK, with scenes filmed on location in Clapham Junction and Battersea Rise. The spot encourages viewers to consider the issues that elderly people have to deal with in their local community.

As one of the major hubs of South London, Clapham is a popular filming location for projects hoping to depict inner-city locations.

Age UK, Commercial, Spot, London, Filming, LocationsThe commercial marks Director Louise Osmond’s debut into advertising, with her previous credits consisting of award winning documentaries.

Frances Royle, Founder of Royle Productions comments: “we are very proud to launch Louise’s advertising commercial career on the back of this project. We’ve been watching Louise over the past 18 months and looking for the right project for her. As we’re committed to supporting female directing talent within the industry, it’s great to be able to fulfil this ambition too.”

Royle continues: “it was wonderful to team up again with Arthur London, who always write such powerful and compassionate ideas and utterly rewarding to bring together such a passionate team, so generous with their time and commitment to the project”.

With a wide variety of locations, London enjoys a fair degree of popularity amongst commercials productions. Marks & Spencer filmed their Christmas commercial on location in the borough of Islington.

While non-applicable to commercial shoots, the UK Government offers a 25% tax rebate on local expenditure incurred whilst filming. Feature films are expected to spend at least 10% of their budget to qualify, while the bar is set at GBP1 million per broadcast hour for TV shows.
