Santander builds Lego Formula One car on location in Hampshire’s FIVE building
Banking giant Santander has chosen the Farnborough International Venue & Events (FIVE) building near London to film its new commercial. The spot shows McLaren F1 drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton helping a team build an oversized Formula One racing car out of Lego bricks.
The size of the location was perfect for what we needed and could accommodate the size of the car.
Francis Mildmay-White, Production Manager
Francis Mildmay-White is with Knucklehead Productions: “The size of the location was perfect for what we needed and could accommodate the size of the car. The Five team all made the experience of filming at Farnborough an easy one. I would be happy to film there again if we needed a similar location.”
The FIVE building offers 3,000 square metres of unbranded floor space and being only 35 minutes from London it’s a convenient spot too. It provided ample room for the 72-foot Lego car and 50 extras, as well as space for equipment and catering vehicles.
