The Dark Knight Rises films on location at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham
The bat has come to Nottingham; specifically Wollaton Hall, a 16th Century Elizabethan mansion in the city. Christopher Nolan’s third Batman project is rumoured to have been filming in locations all over the UK, but Wollaton Hall is the first UK location commented on by the production team.
Emma Thomas, a Producer on the film, said: “We’ve had a great experience shooting at Wollaton Hall. We're enormously grateful to the staff there and the people of Nottingham who were very accommodating. We hope everybody will be excited to see their local landmark on screen next summer.”

Emily Lappin, Head of Communications and Inward Investment at screen agency EM Media, said: “Nottingham is well known for producing home-grown British independent films and Christopher Nolan is an exciting and visionary filmmaker who has reinvented the Batman film franchise. Wollaton Hall is a fantastic film location and its profile is set to soar.”
In addition to UK locations filming has reportedly included Croydon and Aberdeen, The Dark Knight Rises has already filmed in the north-west Indian town of Jodhpur. Filming in the US is scheduled to focus on Pittsburgh in the next few weeks, which will take over from Chicago as Gotham City.
