The Iron Lady and Prometheus steer Pinewood Shepperton to revenue increase
It’s been a good 2011 so far for Pinewood Shepperton. Margaret Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady and Ridley Scott’s Prometheus are among the projects that have driven the UK studios to a total revenue of GBP26 million for the first half of this year, GBP7 million more than the same period in 2010.
Ivan Dunleavy is Chief Executive of Pinewood Shepperton Studios: “The first half of the year has delivered a positive performance across the business with good demand from big-budget films and large-scale TV productions. Despite the current economic uncertainties, the company is performing strongly.

“Trading since 30th June has been buoyant and is expected to continue to perform well for the year as a whole. Our investment in infrastructure to support growth is ongoing and we look to the future with confidence.”
The company’s facilities have also hosted Dark Shadows, the latest collaboration between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliffe’s first screen role since the end of the Harry Potter franchise, and Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to 2010’s fantasy remake Clash of the Titans have also visited. Snow White and the Huntsman is currently filming with Kristen Stewart and Thor star Chris Hemsworth.
Earlier this year the company announced plans to build an additional 30,000 sq ft stage at Pinewood at a cost of just over GBP5 million.
