Film Polska Productions: Poland calling Bollywood
With the sole reason of presenting Poland as a potential shooting destination to the Indian Film Industry, Polish Tourist Organisation (POT) and Film Polska Productions jointly organised an official Indian producers' fam trip to Poland.
The trip turned out to be a great success, with the visiting team exploring areas around Warsaw, Krakow and the Polish mountains.
Poland has lots of advantages as a filming location. It has a sea coast, castles, lakes, meadows, mountains and modern landscapes in cities like Warsaw and Wroclaw. Poland has a lot to offer in terms of architecture, owing to its history. Before Poland became a republic, the area was occupied by Russia in the east, Prussia (Germany) in the west and the Austro-Hungarian empire. So, one can see architectural influences from all these regions in Poland.
The country also has its unique architecture from the communist era in cities like Nowa Huta in Krakow and the Palace of Science and Culture in Warsaw.
The Indian producers were amazed by the beauty of Poland on their visit. Sandeep Sidhwani from Dreamzcraft Motion Pictures is planning to shoot parts of a sequel of a hit Hindi romantic comedy in Poland. Jeet Chacha, who owns a location scouting company in India, is planning an Indian political thriller in Krakow.
Film Polska has a history of line producing Indian featues and TVCs in Poland.
