UK Film Investment Fund passes GBP6 million
The UK's Skills Investment Fund has now contributed GBP6 million to skills and training initiatives across the film production industry.
Managed by Skillset, the fund is a levy on theatrical film production and has so far received money from 515 productions including Quantum of Solace, The Duchess, Easy Virtue, RocknRolla” and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. The fund has contributed to many areas of training including subsidising 11,000 places on training courses, seminars and masterclasses.
Quantum of Solace Producer Barbara Broccoli said: "The UK film industry has a worldwide reputation for highly skilled crews. “Commercially we benefit greatly from this reputation and to maintain it we must support the workforce and their continual development."
