Singapore

Singapore is a compact city state with increasing international production appeal. High-profile action sequel Hitman: Agent 47 was the first Hollywood studio feature to shoot in the city and was supported by the Singapore Media Development Authority.

Infinite Studios is Singapore’s main filming facility, offering two sound stages and accompanying office space, equipment rooms and dressing areas. Infinite also runs additional production space on the nearby Indonesian island of Batam.

Sci-fi blockbuster, Independence Day: Resurgence shot a number of scenes at the Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Singapore faces considerable competition from its immediate neighbours. Just across the Johor Strait, Pinewood Malaysia Studios is a new regional production centre that has already hosted the Netflix drama Marco Polo, and the country offers a 30% filming incentive.

Singapore is a beautiful country; I am just amazed at how one small compact island is able to fit in so much! The lush greenery, the bustling shopping haven at Orchard Road and the diverse range of food and cuisine found at every turn, all left me with a deep and lasting impression.”

Climate

Singapore has a tropical climate with 288 days of sunshine a year. There are no real distinct wet or dry seasons and temperatures tend to stay around 30C during the day and 23C at night.

Most rainfall occurs during the north-east monsoon from November to January. These showers are usually sudden and heavy.

The high humidity and abundant rain results in some lush tropical vegetation.
