The film industry of Santa Clarita received a huge boost in 2015 as a record number of productions flocked to use the Californian city as a filming location. According to the Santa Clarita Film Office, 2015 held a total of 565 film permits and 1,372 location film days, an improvement of 13 and 2 percent over 2014 respectively.
The Location Managers Guild of America will officially rebrand itself to become the Location Managers Guild International. Alongside this change, the nomination process is now open for the LMGA Awards with January 11th being the final day to submit a piece of work.

After two days of networking, industry talks and panels, interviews and incredible parties, the first FOCUS has officially come to an end. Henrietta Street, located in the Irish capital of Dublin has been issued with a six month ban on filming after residents complained that an excessive amount of filming took place in November 2015. The street has become a popular filming location in recent years, having featured on high end television shows Penny Dreadful and Ripper Street.
The Otago Southland Film Office which oversees productions in the southern half of New Zealand’s South Island, is currently being reviewed in an effort led by Queenstown Lakes Mayor District Council. The OS Film Office has been in operation for over ten years and this review will find out if changes need to be made to its infrastructure.
After filming on location at Skellig Michael in Ireland, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is expected to cause a surge in tourism to the area upon its December 17th release. The production filmed at Skellig Michael in July 2014, off the coast of County Kerry with cast members including Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley.
The Macedonian Film Agency has appointed Mimi Gjorgoska-Ilievska to be its new Director after a decision was issued by the President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. Mrs. Gjorgoska-Ilievska has an established reputation within the film industry, having accumulated a total of twenty years experience.
