The BBC’s television adaptation of Agatha Christie’s bestselling crime novel, And Then There Were None was filmed in Cornwall and at Harefield House in Hillingdon. The original novel has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and has been adapted numerous times into television shows, films, and even a stage production.
The upcoming ITV produced television series Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, was filmed on location in Northumberland and County Durham which are located in the Northeast of England. Based upon the original Beowulf poem, this big budget production will attempt to appeal to both national and international audiences by tapping into the same medieval style popularised by Game of Thrones and The Last Kingdom.
The Conjuring 2, the sequel to 2013s hugely successful horror film The Conjuring has finished filming in the London borough of Enfield. Unlike its predecessor, The Conjuring 2 was filmed in both Los Angeles and Enfield while the first film was shot entirely on location in North Carolina.
An eight part drama series from Left Bank Pictures titled The Halcyon, has been commissioned for filming by ITV. The show is scheduled to film in London and surrounding areas from April 2016. Left Bank’s previous work with ITV includes the made-for-TV film about the life of comedian Tommy Cooper, Not Like That, Like This.
The second season of AMC’s popular spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead has begun filming on location in Baja, Mexico. Production began December 3rd while its origin series, The Walking Dead has entered into its mid-season break and is set to return in 2016.
Taboo, an eight episode drama series for FX and the BBC will be filmed in London. Created by Steven Knight and directed by Kristoffer Nyholm, the show will star Tom Hardy alongside an international cast including Michael Kelly, Oona Chaplin, and Jessie Buckley.
The second season of the Starz drama Outlander is currently being filmed on location in Paris and Scotland. The first season was shot entirely within Scotland, making the relocation to Paris the first time the series has been filmed outside of the UK.
Doctor Strange, the latest film to be produced by Marvel Studios since Ant-Man was released July 8th 2015 has begun filming on location in Nepal, after which production will move to London to film in Pinewood Studios.
