Bristol Film Office has launched a series of online movie maps in a bid to boost regional film tourism. The city in the west of England has been used for several high-profile UK TV shows, including Sherlock, Wolf Hall and the controversial teen drama Skins.
Lithuanian production house The Magic has joined The Location Guide as a partner for our Location Beach Lounge at this year’s Cannes Lions Festival. The company was set up in 2011 and specialises in commercials and general production services.

Screen Yorkshire is setting up an adapted film studio to boost northern England’s production appeal. Yorkshire is regularly used as a filming location – mainly for UK shoots – and has recently doubled for London in A Royal Night Out, and as Belfast for the taut war drama ’71.
The BBC has built a Victorian set in an adapted warehouse space in London for new period drama Dickensian. Written by Tony Jordan, the series presents intertwining stories of some of Charles Dickens’ most famous characters who it posits are living on the same London street.
The BBC will film the Second World War TV drama My Mother And Other Strangers on location in Northern Ireland. Belfast is a popular filming location for UK TV productions and also hosts the huge international hit Game of Thrones.
British TV shoots have kept location filming levels steady in Bristol, in the west of England. High-profile shows shot in the city in recent months have included a special period episode of the BBC’s international hit Sherlock.
