MJZ is recreating US locations including New York, Chicago and Texas for a new McDonald’s spot. The high street in Tarporley, a small town near Chester in central England, has been one filming location this week.
Mark has been based at the Connecticut Film (CT) Office since 2000. Before joining the film office he spent nearly 15 years in the locations department on various feature films and TV commercials.
The airport at Dawson City in western Yukon, Canada, is a small building about the size of a school classroom and our Piper Chieftain plane has six passenger seats. “Welcome to Dawson City international airport!” jokes my host Colin MacKenzie.

New Zealand’s screen industries grew by 4% in 2011 on the previous year, generating nearly NZD3 billion in revenue. The figures from Statistics NZ show that feature work in the country increased by 15%, with nearly 25% of revenue coming from feature production.
Utah in the western US was used extensively for the filming of Andrew Stanton’s epic sci-fi John Carter. Rebecca Puck Stair was one of the Location Managers on the project tasked with finding eye-catching filming spots in the sparsely-inhabited state.
Andy Weltman has left the British Film Commission (BFC) to become Executive Vice President of Pinewood USA in Los Angeles. Weltman spent four years as Executive Vice President of US Production with the BFC.
