The Premier of Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced that the world’s first exhibit to focus entirely on the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be coming to Australia in May 2017. The exhibit will make use of the current flow of film tourism, generated by the recent filming of Thor: Ragnarok on the Gold Coast.

The Netflix exclusive revival of the comedy-drama series, Gilmore Girls is being filmed on location in Los Angeles, with the production currently taking up residency at Warner Brothers Studios. The revival, entitled Gilmore Girls: Seasons was announced in January 2016 and will consist of four 90 minute episodes, a departure from the show’s usual 45-minute run time.
The Conjuring 2, the sequel to 2013s hugely successful horror film The Conjuring has finished filming in the London borough of Enfield. Unlike its predecessor, The Conjuring 2 was filmed in both Los Angeles and Enfield while the first film was shot entirely on location in North Carolina.
The Production Guild of Great Britain has recognised the UK team behind 24: Live Another Day at its 2015 awards ceremony. Iain Smith, a producer and chairman of the British Film Commission, and his team took the award for Production Guild Member/Team of the Year.
New children’s fantasy Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them has started filming at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in north-west London. Written by JK Rowling, the movie is set 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter stories and stars Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne.
Screen Australia has announced its support for Australian/Chinese co-production The Nest 3D, a visual effects-driven story of an ancient Chinese mummified emperor brought back to life. Production will take place mainly in Queensland, which recently hosted Unbroken.
