One of our popular stories this week has been news that the second series of Game of Thrones will be filmed partly in Croatia, which is great for the eastern European country. In other news production has started at Fox Studios Australia on Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and the Mojave Desert has again proved its popularity as a convenient dramatic wilderness.
[slideshow id=144]Game of Thrones, HBO’s hit fantasy drama, will film partly in Croatia for its second season. The first series was based in Northern Ireland and also filmed in Morocco and Malta. For season two it’s keeping Northern Ireland as its production base, but Croatia will be replacing Malta.
Hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones, produced by HBO, will return to Northern Ireland for a second season of location filming from late July. As with the first series, the production will be based at Belfast’s Paint Hall Studio, with location filming planned throughout the region.
Belfast and various locations throughout Northern Ireland are to be used for the production of dark fantasy adventure Game of Thrones, which could be the biggest TV production ever to film in Europe.
