The majority of live-action US commercials filmed on location in California in 2011. Findings in the new annual survey from the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) reveal that 76% of US commercials filmed on location, the highest ratio since 2008.

Hit zombie TV drama The Walking Dead is filming on location this week in the city of Grantville in southern Georgia. Despite officially being a city, Grantville is home to only around 2,500 people. The show is filming both interiors and exteriors.
New British comedy film The Wedding Video shot scenes on location at Manchester Airport in north-west England using a retired Trident aircraft. Based at the airport’s Runway Visitor Park, the plane was retired in 1985 after nearly 15 years of service.
A Bollywood production is filming on location in Kashmir. Kashmir is a disputed territory in central Asia that’s been partitioned between India and Pakistan for more than 60 years. The region has been affected by an Islamist-led insurgency since the late 1980s.
Pinewood Studios near London will submit a revised expansion plan in the next few weeks. The ‘Project Pinewood’ proposal was rejected by local authorities earlier in the year but the studio has always been clear that changes have to be made if it’s to remain globally competitive.
Upcoming period crime feature Gangster Squad has filmed reshoots in the Chinatown region of Los Angeles. The community is considered film-friendly as the small streets and alleyways are easy to control, while period production design is straightforward.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Alexander Payne will be filming on location in Nebraska for his new feature, which at the moment is named after the state. Nebraska is in the central US and Omaha-born Payne could help raise the state’s filmmaking profile.
