Funded by the Irish Film Board, the project chose Cobh as it’s both easily accessible and offers un-used parts of the country to showcase new landscapes for the audience.

Frozen and wintry climates characterise parts of the series’ mythical lands and so glacial regions of Iceland were used to film these parts of the story.
After tentative announcement last November, New Mexico has officially confirmed that it’s hosting big-budget adaptation The Lone Ranger, which will feature Johnny Depp as Tonto. The project will film in locations including Santa Fe and Albuquerque from February to August this year.
Atlanta Film Studios Paulding County (AFSPC) in Atlanta, Georgia, has come to an equipment supply agreement with Paskal Lighting. The Los Angeles-based company will be the exclusive supplier of equipment such as lighting and grip to the new studio facility.
A TV miniseries exploring the life of Nelson Mandela will be filmed in South Africa later this year. Dramatising 60 years of the former President’s life up to his release from prison in 1990, the series will be six hours long and will have a production budget of around USD20 million.
