A new TV miniseries telling the story of infamous Great Depression gangsters Bonnie and Clyde has filmed on location in Louisiana. Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive also doubled the state for various Mid-West locations, including Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Iowa.
Sci-fi sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will film partly on location in Louisiana. The movie will double the southern state for San Francisco as it takes advantage of a filming incentive worth a base rate of 30%.
A pair of big-budget features is set to boost location filming in British Columbia in western Canada. Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla remake has started filming around Vancouver and science fiction sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will shoot in the region in the next few weeks.
Location filming in British Columbia in western Canada could take a hit when the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) returns in April 2013. Producers will likely have to pay tax on filming facilities ranging from set rentals to building materials at a time when the province is struggling to compete nationally.
