Marvel has announced South Korea’s capital city Seoul as an additional filming location for its big-budget superhero sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The movie brings together Marvel’s most popular comic book heroes for a second adventure.
A film version of video game franchise Angry Birds will follow British Columbia’s digital animation incentive to film in Vancouver with Sony Pictures Imageworks. The game was first launched as a smart-phone app in 2009 and has since been downloaded more than two billion times.

Shoots for international shows like Elementary accounted for most of the TV spending in the UK in 2013 as a result of the new TV tax credit, according to the British Film Institute. Just over GBP230 million was spent by TV productions and nearly 65% of this came from international shoots.
The UK government has opened up its filming incentive programme and has introduced support for visual effects. Chancellor George Osborne’s enhancements to the filming incentive included reducing the minimum production spend needed to access the tax credits.
Pinewood Studios has launched its appeal for authorisation to expand its London filming facilities. The studio wants to begin work on a GBP200 million project that will increase the scope of the facilities currently on offer and enable more productions to shoot simultaneously.
Chris Hemsworth, star of new Marvel sequel Thor: The Dark World, has praised the UK’s location filming opportunities. The movie shot mostly at Shepperton Studios and on location in and around London, marking a production shift for Marvel.
