A new, big-budget film adaptation of Dracula featuring Javier Bardem will film on location in Northern Ireland after securing an upfront payment under the UK’s incentive laws. Ireland was being considered for the shoot but reportedly couldn’t match the UK’s offer.
Pinewood Studios is expanding to the US with a 40% stake in new production facility Pinewood Atlanta. The studio will be developed on 288 acres of land south of Atlanta, Georgia, through a joint venture agreement with independently-managed trust River’s Rock LLC.
Officials in British Columbia (BC) in Canada have drawn on production figures from 2012 to call for support for their filming industry. Figures from Burnaby in Vancouver - recently visited by Man of Steel - show the city made over CAD400 million from production spending last year.

Marvel’s superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier is shooting mainly on location in Los Angeles. Its production budget is too large to qualify for California’s filming incentive, but the decision was easier as the sequel is set in modern-day America.
