The AFCI Locations Show will move to 27-29 March at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City in Los Angeles for 2014. For the past two years the event has taken place in downtown Los Angeles in June.

Disney’s plan for major film studio expansion in southern California has won the crucial approval of Los Angeles County Supervisors. The Golden Oak Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita will have more than 500,000 square feet of new facilities, including sound stages.
Sci-fi feature Elysium filmed partly on location in Mexico City, doubling the region for a dystopian Los Angeles. The film is set 150 years in the future on an Earth divided between a poverty-afflicted surface population and an orbiting luxury space station.
New York has seen a 25% increase in post-production work in the year since the state’s tax credit got a big boost. In July 2012 the post-production incentive was tripled to 30% for work done in and around New York City, and increased to 35% for work done in upstate regions like Buffalo.
Sherpas Cinema and director Dave Mossop filmed aerial footage across Canada for new tourism ride FlyOver Canada. Launched at Canada Place in Vancouver, the ride is presented as a virtual flight, with the country’s most dramatic locations projected on a curving 180-degree screen.
Marvel’s superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier has wrapped its location filming in Cleveland, Ohio, which doubled for Washington, DC. The film now heads to California and will continue studio work in Los Angeles.
