Saskatchewan in central Canada has proposed a new location filming tax credit. Its 45% refundable programme was cancelled in March as a cost-saving exercise, but the provincial Government has said that a non-refundable 25% tax credit will be launched in July 2012.

Paris-based Havas has announced organic revenue growth of 5.6% for the first half of 2011 over the same period in 2010. Overall there are mixed results. Organic growth slipped by 1.3% between Q1 and Q2 of this year, but North American growth for the company was 1.8% over the same period.

The Irish Film Board (IFB) faces a 2011 budget reduction of a comparatively minor 3.3%, leaving it a total of EUR16 million. Given the scale of cuts across all sectors in the Irish industry, this is being viewed as a positive development.
Bollywood Director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao has announced the production of a new film covering the childhood of Jesus that will shoot soon in the Holy Land. At USD30 million the project is very big-budget by Bollywood standards and will feature Indian child actors.
